  Charm's Chatter

Here is a place for you to discuss the current Charms lesson. You may ask your fellow students for help, or ask me a question of post an idea for a future class. Please do not give the answers here (if you do I will take galleons.) You may however post a link where they can find the answers themselves. This also gives me a place to ask questions to improve our class room and to make your Charm’s lessons as beneficial as possible.

~Charms Rules~

Welcome to Charms there are only a few rules that I wish you to go by.

1. Please follow the forum rules that is a must.

2. Please include sources in your work this helps me not only to insure that your work is your own but by viewing the different places that you go for answers it will help me to challenge you with new questions that I may not have known about before.

3. Be creative! Magic is a creative art and I want to award that creativity in each of you.

4. Have fun. I am not just saying that. I think we will all get the most out of this class if we have fun while we are at it. Please remember to keep it respectful though encourage your fellow students to do there best do not ridicule them for trying.

Grading Procedure:

Each time I post the lesson I give each question a point value. You can achieve more that that when ever you see the *bonus* Hint I will also give bonuses for answers that are above and beyond. There is a Notable Homework’s forum for Charms I will post answers from your fellow students here that I feel were so fabulous I just can’t keep them to myself. If I chose your homework for a “Notable Homework” that to could lead to a bonus.

Also I have a grade book, and I will be keeping a running total of your scores this is to encourage you to post as many Charmed assignments as possible I will post the name of the top student after each complete lesson.

Please PM me when you have questions or comments I would love to hear from you. But do not post me asking when the next assignment is coming out or why I haven’t gotten to your grades yet I work as quickly as I can and will take points for impatience.

Looking forward to seeing you all in the classroom.

Best start at the Beginning - Tools - Lesson One
Posted by Charity Black @ Thu Jun 19, 2008 9:58 pm
Hello and welcome the Charms I am still currently getting my self settled in but I wanted to make sure that you all had a little something to do. Every thing we must do is easier when you have the right tools so that is where we will begin. Below are five questions. The four can be fairly short answers, but please if you want credit tell me what book or website it came from. The fifth question will be a bit more work, but have fun with it . . . make up a wand not found in the books if you want to. Let your minds soar! Please answer the Questions via PM. I will be posting the next section of this lesson Saturday 21 June 2008. You have until then to pm your answers any answers received after that time will not be accepted.

PART ONE

1. What is a wand?
2. Name a wand maker and where he is from?
3. Tell me about three wands from the Harry Potter series (bonus if you go out side the main characters.)
4. Whose wand is described as “a nice wand for Charm work,” and why?
5. What type of a wand do you think the wand maker will suggest for you? Why?
